Travel Writer Bill Clevlen recently visited Tina Turner's hometown - Brownsville Tennessee. Here he shares what he found.

"Long before Tina Turner was a rock and roll superstar, she lived in this rural area of western Tennessee. Back then, locals knew her as Anna Mae Bullock. You can still travel down Highway 19 which is mentioned in the biographical song "Nutbush City Limits". Turner's recent death has sparked a renewed interest in the superstar's roots and hometown where her one room elementary school is now The Tina Turner Museum in the town of Brownsville. The museum features a copy of her high school yearbook, dresses, and even a pair of her iconic high heel shoes. I had the opportunity to spend a few days exploring the region and even talked to locals that knew her in high school."
