This song was actually the brainchild of Kati Cher. While I had heard Tina's original version of this song, as well as Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band's cover, I thought it was interesting to hear an original song from Tina since she was well-known for singing cover song.

"Nutbush City Limits" is a semi-autobiographical song written by Tina Turner which commemorates her rural, cotton-growing hometown of Nutbush in Haywood County, Tennessee, United States.

Produced by her then-husband Ike and originally released as a single on United Artists Records in August 1973, it is one of the last hits that the husband-wife R&B duo released together.

I was considering going into some small detail about the horribly abusive hardships she endured at the hand of her ex-husband Ike, but I thought it would be best to leave it positive, as the legacy of a woman that lived through, and overcame incredible life challenges.
