Originally recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler for her 7th studio album, Hide Your Heart, May 9, 1988, where it was the 7th song and lead single Co-writer Holly Knight says the song was originally offered to a male artist "whom she admired and had a silly crush on" but he declined. A year later Tina Turner recorded her cover version for her 7th album Foreign Affair September 13, 1989 where it was the 2nd track and lead single. Tina's version has a sax solo by Edgar Winter.
