Elvis Presley tribute artists showed off their sideburns, rhinestones and pelvic swivels in Manila, Saturday (19 AUGUST 2017), in the grand finale of the first annual Elvis of Asia contest.
Held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of the King of Rock and Roll, the contest brought together performers from Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and special contestants from California and Australia.
An audience sang along as finalists performed Elvis favorites including "Heartbreak Hotel," "My Way" and "Can't Help Falling in Love" - gathering on stage together for a group rendition of "Blue Suede Shoes."
Elvis impersonator Jun Espinosa, from the Philippines, was crowned the first "Elvis of Asia," while fellow Felipino Bam Angping and Yukihiro Nishijima from Japan were runners-up.
As well as the title, Espinosa also won a luxury trip to Graceland.
