Written sometime during the summer of 1968 "The Back Seat of My Car" would later appear on Paul McCartney's 1971 album Ram. The song was demoed during the Get Back session on day 14. The song was finally put recorded on October 22, 1970 with the basic track consisting of Paul McCartney on piano, Denny Seiwell on drums, and Hugh McCracken on guitar. It then recived a bass overdub by Paul and addtiional guitars by David Spinozza and Hugh McCracken. It wasn't until 3 months later that the orchestra overdubs, scored by George Martin, was recorded. The song was released as a single on August 13, 1971 to mediocre sales only peaking at number 39 on the UK charts.

The drums were sourced from an early mix so I mixed them to more closely match the album mix.
