The Beatles had started their trip in Paris And it was in Paris that we got the telegram Congratulations boys number one in the US charts And you had said you won't go to America unless you have a number one I know And you know that was pretty spunky to kind of think that But I'd seen quite a few of our major stars go to the States and we're going wow he's going to leave us now He'll it'll be made famous famous over there And but then they'd come back and they weren't famous So I said well if we go over there you know this I really don't want to come back with our tail between our legs In America.
