Liverpool is a city on the River Mersey in Merseyside, England. Gimbal Walk TV visits Liverpool City Centre for this epic walk through one of the greatest cities in England on the day of the Liverpool Trophy Parade.
Our Liverpool tour begins at the Royal Albert Docks on the River Mersey on the waterfront where we can see the Liver Building in the distance, just one of our stops ahead of us. The Albert Dock is where This Morning with Richard and Judy was filmed.
Coming out of Albert Dock we cross Hartley Quay and head past the Maritime Museum and the Dock Traffic Office and pump house. As we pass Canning Dock we come to The Strand where the scousers are gathering ahead of the Liverpool Football Club Trophy Parade.
From The Strand we make our way along to The Liverpool Waterfront and Pier Head where we stop by to see The Beatles statue and monument to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.
We also see the Royal Liver Building and the Cunard Building as well as the Port Of Liverpool Building and Georges Dockway.
From here we walk up Brunswick Street to Castle Street and Liverpool Town Hall before heading down to the world famous Mathew Street, home of The Cavern Club where the Beatles and Cilla Black were discovered. Head down into the basement of the most famous club in the world to experience what it would have been like in days of the Fab Four.
Just as exciting as The Cavern Club for me is Eric's Liverpool music venue opposite where many bands made their early appearances from Echo and the Bunnymen to OMD.
Mathew Street is a vibrant and exciting street with Rubber Soul bar, the Cavern Pub, Sgt Peppers, The Hard Days Night hotel and the Cilla Black statue. Also on Mathew Street is the Liverpool Beatles Museum which is worth a visit. The Grapes Pub is also a noteable place here to have a drink or something to eat.
Of course the main tourist attraction in Liverpool is the Cavern Club itself, and there are many Beatles Shops and the Beatles Tour here. Where Mathew Street meets Rainford Gardens is the building that used to house Probe Records where famous pop star Pete Burns used to work.
This Liverpool guide then takes us into Whitechapel and up Lord Street before heading down to The Strand for the big ending to our video, the Liverpool Trophy Parade where Liverpool Football Club passes by on open top buses, cheered on by Liverpool fans here to see their footballing heroes!
