Vinyl records were sent to radio stations for commercial audio. This series of Huntley Brinkley Report spots were all 30 seconds long. They featured a 10-second intro by David Brinkley talking about a vague highlight on that night's news followed by 20 seconds of "news music" that the local announcer would read, along with the local channel call letters, channel numbers, and broadcast time.

The NBC producers would tip off the advertising agency about which intro to use and then the ad agency would tell the local stations which cut to use on their vinyl.

I've combined the first ten seconds or so of each track in rapid fashion followed by the trail-off music that was common to all tracks.
