In part 2 of this music production tutorial series I show you how to record acoustic guitar. Recording acoustic guitar is one of the trickier parts of recording. Any time you try to record guitar or an instrument with a microphone you add levels of complexity that need to be dealt with: the room acoustics, the microphone, mic placement, the player, the pick, the strings, the instrument choice. I walk you through the entire process, from plugging in the instrument to the sound card to getting gain levels set to overdubbing acoustic guitar to editing and more. Sometimes people will use two microphones to record acoustic guitar but I show you how to record acoustic guitar with only one mic and give you a neat trick for recording acoustic guitar with one mic.
