I've transposed the song down from it's original key of E to the key of C, to suit my singing range better.
Heartbreak Hotel was written by Mae Boren Axton and Tommy Durden (with credit also being given to Elvis), and was released as a single by Elvis in January 1956. It was his first single after leaving Sun Records and signing with RCA Victor. The single topped the Billboard Top 100 for seven weeks, the Cashbox's Pop singles chart for six weeks, and the Country and Western chart for seventeen weeks. It reached #2 in the UK single chart.
