Elvis and Buddy first meet backstage after Elvis performance in Amarillo, Texas.

Elvis told Buddy Knox that rock 'n' roll was "fixin' to happen" and encouraged him to record.
Knox was called up to the U.S. Army Reserves the same week "Party Doll" hit number one.

He released several songs under the name of Lieutenant Buddy Knox while serving in the Army.
