Eddy Ouwens (Danny Mirror) (Rotterdam, May 30, 1946) is a Dutch singer, composer and music producer.
Eddy (actually: Arie) Ouwens (Rotterdam, 1946). Leader of The Eddysons and the Eddy Nelson Band. Member of the trio Leo, Leo & Leo. Solo also as Eddy Owens, Edison and under his own name. Songwriter and producer.
He was the man behind the Dutch song festival success "Ding-a-Dong" by Teach-In. With this group and with Jackpot he scored several hits during this period. More personal success came in 1977 when, following the death of Elvis Presley, he wrote the song "I remember Elvis Presley" and released it under the pseudonym Danny Mirror. The single reached number one in the Top 40 and the National Hit Parade and in England it reached fourth place in the charts. Disc jockey and reviewer Felix Meurders accused Eddy Ouwens of "corpse pecking" in the Hitkrant. Ouwens, who claimed to have been very emotional and sincere when writing the song, was furious and filed a lawsuit. He was in the right, after which the Hitkrant had to rectify the comment on the front page.
As a manager he accompanied the Bobbysocks during the winning of the Eurovision Song Contest 1985. Ouwens wrote the winning song "Let It Swing".
