Elmore in this lecture as in his lecture Elmore moves away from the perception of “Buddhism being an Asian Religion” outside of the realm and culture of America and that of the “Black America.” Elmore in this lecture introduce “Bobby Rush” who is “King of the Chitlin Circuit.” Mr. Rush who is 83 years old is poplar throughout “Urban America” and he is a “Living Hero” to Black people in the “inner cities” in America.
Elmore in this lecture talks with Mr. Bobby Rush who is known as the “King of the Chitlin Circuit.” Elmore an Mr. Rush talk religion without discussing religion. Elmore in this lecture explains the “Buddhist” concept of “Karma.” Elmore makes note and gives the story of “Two Kings in the Music World. While Elvis Presley is known as the King of Rock and Roll the music of Elvis Presley comes from what is known as the “Chitlin Circuit.” What as known as “Rock and Roll” is Blue and Black music. While Elvis Presley is given credit as the “King of Rock and Roll” this music is clearly Black music whereas Black people not give credit for the creation of the music. The Elvis enterprise has generated Billions and Rock and Roll has changed the culture in our world.
While this story seems “unjust” to Black people Elmore explains the Buddhist prospective of the story. While Elvis fans travel 1000’s of miles just to gain a part of Elvis history Elmore explains that while Elvis died in 1977 almost 40 years ago, Mr. Bobby Rush King of the Chitlin Circuit is still living, healthy and entertaining audiences mainly throughout “Urban America.” Elmore notes that while the Elvis Estate make Billions the King of the “Chitlin Circuit” has life. Elmore explains Karma and ask the question what is better to live long and Happy and die early and miserable? This question is “Karma.” Mr. Rush calls this “Grace” or “Gods Grace” Elmore describes this as “Karma” or Myoho Renge Kyo. Elmore in this lecture gives a “Black and Buddhist prospective.
