Our series continues. Today we will check out the Harmony H410A single-ended 6BQ5/EL84 firecracker...and just in time for Fourth of July! This amp was made by Lectrolab (Sound Projects) in Chicago and is FOR SALE! Email me if interested: bradlinzy at gmail
Having just one or two of these in my collection is a rarity, but I woke up to find myself suddenly with FOUR different 1960s Harmony labeled tube guitar amplifiers - models H400A, H410A, H415, and H440. The three smaller amps were manufactured by Lectrolab (aka Sound Projects) in Chicago, while the largest of all, the H440, is one of the largest and most powerful guitar amps Valco ever made. In this series we will service and demo each of these beauties and talk about the interesting history of the Harmony corporation and Chicago guitar manufacturing of the 1960s.
